I am happy but, I can’t say it loud. People may ask for a reason and I can’t really share mine. I am glad I made it, I had no hopes. I have a no. of dreams and hardly anyone of them has lasted this long, these are the few words that keep on going in minds today’s generation youth. They find it difficult to share and that’s what makes them vulnerable to many mishappenings, I am not saying it’s not their fault, that they don’t seek for advice but what I mean is its not only their fault it’s the flaw of society that has driven them so far. Their fear of rejection turns them to a dead-end for their growth and hence the development of society. They are not born socially inept society forces them to be one. Hatred is a two-way street, you sow it today and you reap it tomorrow. Being open to your children not only makes your life and relationships happy and healthy but also protect your loved ones from the evils of society. We are always so worried about teenager’s behavior, lifestyle and a lot more but what do parents do about it apart from driving away the little will left in them to listen to you, forcing them to do works choose carrier regardless of their interest and keeping in my mind the family legacy and other social obligations. What you feel kids are gonna love you after that all. The negligence of one’s interest and appreciation and motivation supporting your interest can also misguide them. Few things parents should never do:
- Suppress interests of your wards: Doing so you not only lose them you give them wounds that never heal making them a bitter person.
- Motivate them as per their interest: Motivate them as per their interest and not yours; they are unaware of many things that they later realize and feel betrayed.
- Be friendly: Before taking any decision whether big or small do ask for their opinions that make.
- Be an advisor, not a decision-maker: Give them suggestions be persistent but don’t push it on them.
- Competition can prove to be enemy: Never compare and over create the competition spirits that may lead to the unhealthy competition of negative impact on mind and character and it may also affect your relationship with your ward.
Children do not come with creating option, so don’t try to design one for you, they will find best in them and will make you proud no matter what they choose, believe in them, be mentor not analyzer. At the end of the day, happiness is what counts and you wished for them not the no. of digits on salary slip. The reason why I write such articles is that I can’t shout so I spell it out.
